Impossible Fresh Green Bean Pie

Fresh Green Bean Recipe Ingredients :
  • 8 oz fresh green beans, cut lengthwise into strips
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 4 oz can mushrooms, stems and pieces, drained
  • 3/4 cup Bisquick Baking Mix
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
Fresh Green Bean Recipe Instructions :
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Grease a 10 inch pie plate. Heat beans and 1 inch salted water (1/2 teaspoon salt to 1 cup water) to boiling. Cook uncovered 5 minutes. Cover and cook until tender, 5 to 10 minutes; drain. Mix beans, mushrooms, onion, garlic and cheese in plate. Beat remaining ingredients until smooth, 15 seconds in blender on high or 1 minute with hand beater. Pour into plate.
Bake until knife inserted between center and edge comes out clean, 30 to 35 minutes. Cool 5 minutes. Makes 6 to 8 servings...enjoy it !

FRESH GREEN BEANS RECIPE IN GARLIC SAUCE


FRESH GREEN BEAN RECIPE INGREDIENTS
  • 1 1/2 lbs.fresh green beans
  • 4 oz. fresh Shitake mushrooms (optional)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/4 cup fresh Italian parsley, chopped
  • pinch of fresh basil and oregano, minced
  • pinch of red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 cup plain bread crumbs (optional)
  • 8 cloves garlic, peeled

FRESH GREEN BEAN RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS
In a saucepan, bring 5 cups water to a boil with 1 tablespoon salt.
Add fresh green beans (strings and ends removed). Boil beans for 4-5 minutes, until tender but not overcooked. When tender, shock beans in a bowl of ice water to prevent overcooking and retain bright green color. Remove after 30 seconds and let drain in colander.
In a large heavy bottom skillet, heat olive oil with cloves of garlic and mushrooms. Sauté until garlic becomes tan, but not brown.
Mash garlic into oil with the tines of a fork. Add cooled beans, parsley, butter and remaining ingredients. Toss with cheese and bread crumbs (optional) and the fresh green bean recipe is ready to serve when butter has melted....nice one !

Cook's Note: Garlic cloves may be removed before serving, or left in for added flavor, as desired. Garlic can be pureed or pressed through a sieve, but this will eliminate the "roasted" garlic flavor
which characterizes this dish. May be served either warm or cold (if served cold, omit butter).

Variations: A strip of lean bacon or Pancetta may be sautéed in olive oil before adding garlic, then crumbled in. For a piquant flavor, the beans may be served cold, as a salad, and dressed with a
few drops of freshly squeezed lemon or balsamic vinegar.

Fresh Green Bean Ingredients

1/2 pound fresh green beans, cut into 1-inch lengths
2 carrots, cut into thick strips
1/4 cup butter
1 onion, sliced
1/2 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon white pepper

Fresh Green Bean Recipe Instructions

Place green beans and carrots in 1 inch of boiling water. Cover, and cook until tender but still firm. Drain.
Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Saute onions and mushrooms until almost tender. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer 3 minutes. Stir in green beans, carrots, salt, seasoned salt, garlic salt, and white pepper. Cover, and cook for 5 minutes over medium heat.

White & Fresh Green Bean Soup

Fresh Green Bean Ingredients :
  • 1 1/2 cups dried white beans, Great Northern, navy, or baby lima
  • 6 cups water
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp rosemary, crumbled
  • 2 cups fresh green beans (about 3/4 lb), cut on the diagonal in 1-inch pieces
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon

Fresh Green Bean Instructions :
Wash and pick over the dried beans. Put them into a large saucepan or kettle with the water and bring to a boil. Remove from the heat, cover, and allow to stand for 1 hour.

Return to the heat and bring to a boil again. Reduce heat and simmer, partially covered, for 1/2 hour. Using a heavy fork, mash the garlic with the salt until no large chunks remain. Add to the saucepan with the beans. Add the broth, pepper, and rosemary. Simmer, partially covered, until beans are tender. This can take 15 minutes or as long as 1 hour; timing for beans is hard to predict -- keep checking.

Soup can be made ahead to this point, and refrigerated or frozen after thorough cooling. Cook the green beans uncovered in 2 quarts of boiling salted water until they are tender-crisp and bright green. Drain and add to the soup when the white beans are tender but not mushy. If green beans are not to be added right away, rinse in cold water to retain color. Stir in the butter and lemon. Serve at once, while fresh green beans are still bright.

  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon seasoned salt
Fresh Green Bean Recipe Instructions

In a saucepan, bring beans and water to a boil; reduce heat to medium. Cover and cook for 10-15 minutes or until the beans are crisp-tender; drain and set aside. In a large skillet, cook almonds in butter over low heat. Stir in lemon juice and seasoned salt if desired. Add beans and heat through.

Green Beans in Black Bean Sauce

Fresh green Bean Ingredients:
  • 1 lb fresh green beans
  • 2 tbsp black bean paste
  • 2 tbsp low sodium soy sauce or tamari
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1 tbsp corn starch
Fresh Green Bean Instructions :
Wash green beans and trim into bite sized pieces. Steam or microwave with a little water until just tender-crisp. Drain and rinse with cold water to stop cooking. Mix together the black bean paste, soy sauce, water and corn starch until very smooth.

Heat a wok or large saucepan to medium high. Add some water and the cooked beans. When beans are heated (about 2 minutes) add the sauce. Stir constantly to coat the beans (sauce will get very thick). Serve the fresh green beans immediately over hot cooked rice.

  • 4 c. fresh green beans, 1" cut
  • 1/2 lb. sliced mushrooms
  • 1 tbsp. corn oil
  • 1/4 lb. sliced onions
  • Salt & pepper to taste

FRESH GREEN BEAN RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS
Wash and drain beans, do not dry! Use a 12" skillet with tight lid. Put all ingredients in skillet. Cook over medium heat 15 to 20 minutes. Shake skillet to prevent sticking. The fresh green bean recipe is ready to serve 4 to 6. Enjoy it !
